Chimay Diesel

Postby pietenpol2002 » Fri Mar 05, 2010 2:23 am

I don't know that I've seen this machine before. Do we know it? Apparently photographed at Chimay in 2008. Appears to be an interesting mix of parts. The casting marks on the pump would suggest it's the little 479 CC Kubota twin. Noteworthy is the brake stay/restraint on the front wheel as well as the low slung alternator. Remember to click on the pic for a closer look.

Nice find Ron. I don't think we've seen it before. Looking at the style of bike chosen for this conversion, the shaft drive and panniers, it kind'a holds with the way/direction diesel bikes will go. Good to see guys building the kind of machines they want and let's hope the big manufacturers take note. Reliable, long distance tourers offer bikers more freedoms I reckon.
